Town Councils are elected at the Primary election in Brownsburg, Danville and Plainfield because they have a population over 3,500.

Other towns nominate candidates by convention and elect during the general election.

Town government offices perform the same duties as the county level offices on a smaller scale.

There are six public school corporations organized in Hendricks County.
